Status - John Baer - 40th Indiana Regiment - Granger's Corps - Sheridan's Division - Wagner's Brigade
The army in Chattanooga is staying in place and anticipates that full rations will be available to the troops in a few days.
A Confederate force under Longstreet has moved into Tennessee between the armies in East Tennessee and at Chattanooga. General Grant is concerned that he has no available force to block it. Grant urges Sherman to hurry his army across Tennessee as fast as possible.
The Union army commanders are still looking to secure supply lines to all the armies before consolidating and going over to the attack.
