Status - John Baer - 40th Indiana Regiment - Crittenden's Corps - Wood's Division - Wagner's Brigade
Little changes during this time for the army. Most of the troops, 40th Indiana included, remain in the area around Murfreesboro. General Rosecrans continues to request more arms, particularly what he calls revolving arms; repeating rifles and breech-loading guns. General Halleck replies that no more of these are currently available and that Rosecrans' army is as well supplied as any other.
Franklin, TN is occupied by Union troops on February 1st.
