Status - John Skinner - USS St. Croix
The St. Croix delivered troops to the Philippines and remained there throughout August.

On August 30th, the major naval base at Yokosuka is surrendered to the allies, and becomes US Third Fleet Headquarters. Much of the US Fleet in the Pacific still uses the Yokosuka base today.--------------------
